I was so excited to get Winston’s email asking if I could shoot his proposal to Cathy! I was not only excited because I could help him with this important moment, but also because he was going to propose to my good friend Cathy.
Cathy and I met back in 2005 when we both worked as accountants for Fidelity National Financial. We sat next to each other and quickly became co-workers and good friends. Her love for God, her willingness to always help others, and her extreme patience were some of the things I’ve always admired of her. We also share the same birthday month, so during the birthday group luncheons we got to celebrate together.
Cathy has been patiently waiting on the Lord for her Mr. Right, and when she first told me about Winston, I knew there was something different about him. The way she always talked about him, and about how they shared so many things in common. We all knew this was a special relationship.
So I called Winston as soon as I got his email so we could plan the details. Winston was so romantic. On Sunday, the 22nd, Cathy and him had plans to go to the Color Purple show. After that, they had reservations at the Ruth Chris Restaurant for dinner. The proposal would happen at the restaurant.
Winston came over to my house the day before and gave me the roses and the ring (I was nervous about that) so I could take them with me on Sunday. I arrived at the restaurant before their reservation to choose a good table and go over the details with the waiter. I was so excited!!
Winston wrote a poem for Cathy with 6 different colors of roses comparing their relationship with each color. The plan was to have the waiter come to their table, read two verses of the poem, and give Cathy a specific rose for which he was reading. The first two roses were white and yellow. The second pair were orange and lavender, and the third pair were red and pink. The last one was a set of 3 pink roses. Pink was last since it is Cathy’s favorite color, and 3 roses, because one was for Cathy, one for Winston, and one was for God. Attached to the set of 3 roses was the ring. Awwww.. how romantic! Cathy couldn’t hold back the tears when the waiter started reading the poem. On the last verse,… ahhhh.. I couldn’t contain myself either. It was so emotional!! The end?? Of course she said yes!
I am so happy for Cathy and Winston. I know the Lord has a purpose with them and I can’t wait for their wedding.
Below are some of the pictures of their engagement. Enjoy.
Here is a picture of the poem Winston wrote. Beautiful poem!

It was a gorgeous day!

Before they arrived….
I love that they take their time to pray before dinner. So cute.

I was so excited when Sandrine asked me to take her pictures!
I met Sandrine and Miguel about a year ago through one of my other friends, and back then she was expecting Livia. I remember looking at her and saying Wow! what a beautiful mom-to be. While getting to know her, I realized not only she was beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. Sandrine is so sweet and so fun to hang around with and I can’t wait for us to have play time with both Livia and Dylan.
We had so much fun doing this session and believe it or not Livia behave so well. (she was watching us the whole time and didn’t cry once!)
Sandrine and Miguel are like models and they both know what to do to the camera.
Below are a sample of the pictures from their session.
Enjoy!

When I first read about a proposal being photographed at my friend Corinna’s blog, I thought..wow.. what an awesome idea. I always had this in mind. I hoped I’d have the chance to photograph a surprise proposal. Well… yesterday when I received a call from David about the possibility of photographing his proposal to Emily, I got so excited! We talked on the phone and we decided to meet at the UNF nature trails where the proposal would take place. What made this fun is that I had to find a place to hide so Emily wouldn’t suspect anything.
So today, I put a big hat on, wore some sunglasses and headed to the trails to wait for them. I was pretending I was taking pictures of bugs on the floor the whole time, while waiting for the moment when David would ask Emily to marry him.
It didn’t take long for him to ask her since the mosquitoes were eating us alive! (lol).
I think David is so sweet and I am so proud of him for doing this! Being able to capture an event like this hopefully will be an inspiration for many of you guys out there.
Congratulations Emily and David! I’m so excited for you!

This past Saturday we received the news that Mr. Miller, father of my really good friends Robbie and Karina, had passed away. He was only 59 years old and passed away after fighting a long battle with Leukemia.
I met this family 8 years ago, and I can say I haven’t met any other family yet who treated each other with so much love and respect. Mr. Miller truly put his family first above anything and didn’t measure sacrifices to support and provide for them. I really admired the way he treated Robbie and Karina. I remember the times when we were at Karina’s house and they were there… they had such a cool friendship.. they were always laughing and making jokes with each other… I though it was so cool since I didn’t have that with my parents. They even made their own “family” birthday song.. how cool is that?
Mr. Miller will definitely be missed here on earth.
Please keep his family in your prayers so the Lord may confort their hearts at this difficult time.
Also please help this family by donating to The Steve Miller Memorial Fund at any Bank of America.
God Bless you.
I had the privilege to go to Stephanie (his daughther) and Brian’s wedding a month ago, and below are some pictures I was able to capture…
